Cover Up - - Pallet Art

I have yet to share the completion of our basement renovation! I am still in the process of adding the finishing touches to the decor! Today, however, I'm sharing a simple project we did that adds a good deal of character to the space!

One of the biggest eye sore's in our basement was the electrical box. It seemed to be in the most inappropriate spot possible, nearly in the middle of the wall. We wanted to create something to disguise it, but functional when we needed to get to it. So here's what we came up with! Pallet art on hinges!

To start, we disassembled a pallet, sanded it and stained it. Next, we stenciled "est 2006" on it with black spray paint, let dry and lightly sanded. The stain we used was Weathered Gray by Rustoleum. My husband used two industrial sized hinges since this pallet was so heavy. We also secured a magnet to the end so it would successfully close, but easily open.

In time, I intend on adding some cute little clips to display the kids artwork and easily switch it out! You can really let your creativity shine with a project like this!

Sharing this project on these lovely blogs!

Fab Pins of the Week

Happy Friday you lovely lady you (wink!) Do you have anything special planned for the weekend? We will be taking it easy, spending time together and (hopefully) crossing a few projects off our list!

This week I've been inspired by black! It's bold and beautiful! Are you daring enough to decorate with black when it comes to your house? Even adding it as an accent piece can add definition to a room. Whether it's with black in your home decor or fashion, be bold!

Our Pretty Little Lola Girl

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Purina One, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #ONEDifference http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Fun fact: I am in love with our dog Lola! Lola is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and she is the fifth member of our family! We love her dearly and I treat her just like one of my children. Without a doubt, she brightens our days, makes us laugh, loves us unconditionally, protects our home, and  keeps us company. Our life just wouldn't be the same without our little fur baby!

After a long, harsh Winter this past year I've noticed that Lola is struggling a bit this Spring. Since she has such short legs, even a little bit of weight gain can be really hard on her. And she was showing me just that! After I read about the Purina ONE 28 Day Challenge, I knew this would be the PERFECT way to get Lola back on track to keeping up with our busy family! I wasted NO time! I headed to Target to pick up a bag of the Purina ONE Smartblend.

Why did I choose Purina One Smartblend you ask? I would be more than happy to share with you! Bright eyes, dental health, energy, digestibility, skin and coat, and taste are just a few of the proven benefits of this dry dog food. After the first week of being on this dog food, Lola visibly had more energy! She slept less, wanted to play more and even enjoyed a few walks with me in evenings! She had a bit of a struggle the first walk, and by the third walk she was less winded. I'm looking forward to Lola getting back to a healthier weight for her body!

Another benefit I'm super excited about is the dental health! One of the things that makes Lola so special, is she has a significant under bite. It doesn't cause her any problems with eating or drinking, but it does cause her to have bad breath. She hasn't had any problem eating this food, she absolutely loves it! So I'm looking forward to the less stinky side of her, haha!

It's important to keep our four- legged friends healthy too! If you've noticed some unhealthy changes in your pooch lately, I challenge you to join the Purina ONE 28 Day Challenge with us! I would be just over the moon if you share your success with us too!
